This is the only place you can buy a real Christmas cactus. Commercially sold Christmas cactus are in reality Thanksgiving cactus and are the result of years of crossings and hybridization. The difference is usually quite easy to notice in that Thanksgiving cactus Have pointy notches on the leaves and tend to grow upward. They also come with many colors of flowers, from red to white. A real Christmas cactus is a drooping plant, has curved notches and comes with only reddish or pinkish color flowers.
My plant is over 100 years old. It was my grandfathers and has been passed down through 4 generations now. This is the original species called Christmas Cactus and is not available in stores.
Because of it's rarity, we are not allowed to ship this plant outside of Canada. We ship anywhere in Canada on Mondays or Tuesdays to ensure the trimmings don't stay in a post office over the weekend.

Here's a picture of a 15 year old plant that I had in very less than ideal conditions and still bloomed quite a bit this year. To give you an idea this plant is almost 3 feet in diameter. They do grow quite rapidly once started and placed in the right conditions.
